Valeria Gorbova and Jean Jacques are happy to invite you to
the exhibition of Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe “Any Passion is Blind and Mad”.
One of Russia’s most celebrated contemporary artists, an icon of the Art&Fashion movement, a master of transformation and transfiguration, Vlad Monroe is renowned for his metamorphoses into Hitler, Charlie Chaplin, John Paul II, Elizabeth I, Putin… His first impersonation was of Marilyn Monroe, regarded by the artist as a symbol of eternal femininity. And it was then that he became Vlad Monroe in the eyes of his contemporaries, his real surname almost entirely eclipsed.
Monroe’s works are in museums and private collections, including those of Kate Moss and Elton John.
The exhibition runs until the end of January at Jean Jacques. All pictures are available for sale.
We are looking forward to see you!
